The Make Medicare Work Coalition (MMW) is a collaboration to promote access to affordable health care options in Illinois. MMW is led by AgeOptions, Progress Center for Independent Living, and Smart Policy Works. We provide materials, training, and technical assistance to professionals serving older adults and people with disabilities to enable them to help their clients access health care and prescription drug services and supports. MMW was created through generous support by the Michael Reese Health Trust, the Retirement Research Foundation, and the Chicago Community Trust.

Below are some of our MMW resources and educational materials (please note: the materials on this page may change frequently based on current topics of interest.)

MMW Email List

As of February 1, 2019, the MMW email policy has changed. Each of the MMW lead agencies (AgeOptions, Progress Center for Independent Living and Smart Policy Works) has their own email list. Each agency will send information to members of their email lists in keeping with the Make Medicare Work mission.

Avisery by AgeOptions provides tools and support to professionals serving older adults and people with disabilities, enabling them to help their clients access healthcare coverage that allows them to thrive as they age. Sign up for the Avisery Email List.

The Progress Center for Independent Living MMW Email List will focus on healthcare training, education, and outreach events and opportunities with a disability rights angle. We will send information about trainings and events that are available to all but that approach issues through a disability lens, and that provide members of the disability community with tools and resources to navigate barriers within existing systems. To sign up for the Progress Center list, please send an email request to garnold@progresscil.org
